Indeed Announces Job Experience Writer Powered by AI and Supports Multiple Resumes

The career portal has already redesigned the profile page for users, allowing individuals to use an AI-powered writer to fill out work experience and also adding support for multiple resumes. The company has also launched a range of intelligent sourcing suites for recruiters with features like AI-powered candidate summaries and personalized messaging.

The Recruiter Holdings-owned reality company is revamping its profile page and adding AI-powered features to better compete with competitors like LinkedIn, Talent.com and ZipRecruiter. A new AI-powered work experience writer helps people create better descriptions of different projects.

The company is also adding support for saving up to five resumes so an individual can easily choose the most relevant version when applying for different types of roles. He actually said that both features will be rolled out soon.

The job search portal already has a toggle switch to make a user’s profile visible to recruiters. But now the company turns it on by default and makes it easy to access on the settings page.

On the flip side, the company is launching a smart sourcing suite for recruiters to reduce what they call “irrelevant outreach” – when employers reach out to candidates who don’t match the job profile. Aside from advanced search filters, companies can also access AI-powered candidate summaries.

Indeed is also adding AI-powered smart messaging and automatic interview scheduling. The AI-powered messaging tool allows hiring managers to create or modify communication with job seekers. During the testing phase, the company said it observed that recruiters who used the Smart Hiring Sourcing feature saved up to six hours per week.

Deepti Patibandla, senior product manager at Indeed, told TechCrunch over a phone call that the company wants to continue its focus on hiring people.

“Even though LinkedIn is a professional social network or platform, we actually want to hire more people. This is the core value of our business. As a differentiator, we want to make the hiring process easier,” she said.

“We want to make sure people get the right jobs and don’t get inundated with random jobs. Those are our two main focuses right now. In the long term, we see an opportunity for users to come to Indeed to determine their career path.

Last year, it already laid off 2,200 employees, or 15% of its staff. At the time, chief executive Chris Hyams said the organization was “simply too big for what lies ahead”.
