Watch Selection Sunday, all the matches

[ad_1]

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for college basketball fans: March Madness.

Before anyone hits the field for the 2024 March Madness tournament, 68 teams will be officially announced on Sunday, March 17 (also known as Selection Sunday), by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). These teams will play in single-elimination to be crowned NCAA Division I men’s or women’s basketball champions.

Thirty-two teams automatically qualify while 36 at-large teams are selected by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.

Here’s what to know and how to watch:

What is the timeline for March Madness 2024?

This tournament dates back to 1939 but has seen many changes over the years.

On the men’s side, March Madness 2024 begins on Tuesday, March 19, with a First Four match in Dayton, Ohio. The women’s competition begins on Wednesday, March 20. The top four teams consist of the four lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest-seeded overall teams.

Once the final 64 teams are determined, the next round of men’s matches will be held on March 21 and 22, followed by the women’s on March 22 and 23.

The women’s championship game will be played on Sunday, April 7 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, while the men’s game will be played on Monday, April 8 at State Farm Arena in Phoenix.

You can find the full men’s schedule for March Madness for 2024 here and the full women’s schedule here.

Who are your favorite teams?

Going into the men’s tournament, the UConn Huskies are the favorite to win. They are defending heroes, after all. Pundits also have their eyes on the Houston Cougars, who had an impressive season that included a nine-game winning streak.

On the women’s side, the South Carolina Gamecocks are the team to beat. Due to an altercation in a previous game against LSU, center Camila Cardoso will have to miss the first-round game. The Iowa Hawkeyes, with their not-so-secret weapon, Kaitlyn Clark, will no doubt be in a fight to win it all as well.

Are there any free ways to watch all the March Madness games?

This is difficult. Of course, you can watch broadcast networks with an over-the-air antenna if you can get reception. Fubo offers a free seven-day trial for new customers, but Hulu, unfortunately, does not. Furthermore, since the tournament lasts for three weeks, you will end up paying at some point.

If radio is more your speed, consider getting a TuneIn Premium account. Matches will be entered starting with Round 1 for the men and Sweet 16 for the women. Try it with a free seven-day trial.
