Jussie Smollett is completing rehab and preparing to return to Hollywood

According to TMZ, the “Empire” graduate checked himself into an outpatient drug abuse program. He completed all requirements earlier this month.

A source told the publication that Smollett is fully committed to treatment by focusing on his physical and mental health.

Despite his legal problems, his career took a turn for the better. TMZ sources say Jussie’s management is preparing to release a new movie, as well as other projects.

His reputation was tarnished after he claimed two men wearing masks attacked him, PBS reported. The actor claimed they shouted racist and homophobic insults at him before tying a noose around his neck. After the investigation was completed, it was discovered that Smollett had orchestrated the entire event himself.

Law officials revealed that he paid two brothers he met while working on the set of the movie “Empire” to act out the act. He ordered the men to shout that he was in “MAGA Country,” a reference to former President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, PBS reports.
