Speaker 1: If you’ve been putting off updating your 13- or 15-inch MacBook Air until Apple updates it with the three M chips, you’re out of weight. Both sizes can now be ordered using the company’s latest chips introduced in late 2023 when the MacBook Pros and iMac were refreshed. Speaker 1: The three M chips in the iMac are here in the air. The 13-inch Air M 3 has an octa-core CPU [00:00:30] Eight-core GPU, eight gigabytes of memory, and a 256GB SSD for $1,090 vs. $9 For $1,299, you can get up to the M 3 with a 10-core GPU and double the storage capacity to 512GB. Both versions of the chip have a 16-core Neural Engine to accelerate AI and machine learning tasks. And also the 15-inch Air, which starts at $1,299, has just more [00:01:00] Strong m three. The designs themselves are unchanged from the two M versions. The 13-inch display was completely updated in mid-2022 and the 15-inch display was introduced in mid-2023. The colors are the same as before, also Midnight, Starlight Silver and Space Gray, and the Midnight finish has Anodizing stamp to reduce fingerprints. Speaker 1: 10 80p FaceTime Camera, MagSafe 3 Quad Dual USB Charging [00:01:30] Magic Keyboard ports with Touch ID and forced touch trackpad. They’re all the same thing. Also combined with the three M chips. The biggest new additions are a wifi upgrade from six to six E and native support for up to two external displays with the laptop lid closed. And if you’re looking for significant differences between the 13- and 15-inch models, there really aren’t any, other than the obvious size difference and the basic three-inch M chip [00:02:00] It’s 15-inch, has a 10-core GPU, and there’s also a difference in the speakers. The 13-inch model has a four-speaker audio system while the 15-inch model has a six-speaker audio system with force cancellation. But that’s pretty much it. The M two 13-inch MacBook Air takes over from the new 13-inch MacBook Air, which means the 2020 M1 MacBook Air is officially done. So pour one for that. Apple says [00:02:30] The M 3 MacBook air is up to 60% faster than the M1, so it’s probably better off without it. The 15-inch M two air has also been dropped from the lineup, so you may want to look for deals on that. What do you think?
