Meta is finally providing a little insight into the types of conversations happening on its Twitter competitor, Threads. Mark Zuckerberg said the service is rolling out the “Trending Now” feature to all users in the United States

The feature, which the company launched in February, uses artificial intelligence to display a range of topics “based on what people are interacting with now.” Trends will appear on the topic search page and will also appear among posts in users’ For You feeds.

For now, the feature is still somewhat limited. Topics only displays five popular topics at a time, which may be an attempt to keep the list relatively coordinated and avoid some of the issues that occurred The feature is on Twitter and now X. Meta said it is hiring human “content specialists” to review topics and ensure trends comply with the company’s safety rules.

However, official access to trends brings a much-needed feature to the app. Until now, users have had very few ways to learn what others are talking about outside of what they can see in their own feeds. Trends also provides users a way to keep up with some of the news and current events on the platform, despite the Meta To “encourage” news content on topics.
