About 5.5 million high-net-worth individuals live in the United States, representing 37% of the world’s millionaires.

a 2024 American Wealth Reportpublished by Global Wealth Consulting Henley & Company In partnership with Wealth of the New World, determines exactly where money is concentrated in America by ranking the richest cities in the country. The report breaks down the number of millionaires, multimillionaires (those earning more than $100 million), and billionaires into those wealth centers.

According to the report, the number of millionaires in the United States has increased by 62% over the past ten years.

Some of the usual suspects (New York and Los Angeles) topped the list, but there were some surprises. For example, Austin, Texas, which ranked 10th, had the highest growth rate of millionaires from 2013 to 2023, at 110%. Although the Gulf region did not rank first, it has the largest number of billionaires.
