Aryna Sabalenka’s message to fans after the death of her ex Konstantin Koltsov

Konstantin Koltsov, former NHL player and boyfriend of tennis star Aryna Sabalenka, has died at the age of 42.

Two weeks after the former hockey player Konstantin Koltsov passed away, the professional tennis player expressed her appreciation for the heartfelt messages she received from followers.

“I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of my fans for your gushing [of] “Love and support during this difficult time,” Sabalenka wrote on her Instagram Stories on April 1. “Your kind words mean so much and I carry them with me every day. I am so grateful to all of you.”

The Russian hockey club Salavat Yulaev announced Koltsov’s death on March 18.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Salavat Yulaev’s coach Konstantin Koltsov,” the organization wrote in part of a statement at the time. “He was a strong, cheerful person who was loved and respected by players, teammates and fans.”

The Miami-Dade Police Department told E! News it appears that Koltsov died by suicide while in Florida and that “no foul play is suspected.” He was 42 years old.
