Streamlab launches integration with TikTok Live

TikTok Live is now integrated with Streamlabs.

While it was previously still possible to live stream on TikTok using live streaming software, this integration simplifies the experience. Previously, creators had to retrieve their stream key and enter it along with the stream URL. They also needed to go live on both TikTok and Streamlabs. The integration radically streamlines creators’ workflows, and simplifies the use of Streamlabs’ engagement and monetization tools.

TikTok joins rivals Twitch and YouTube with this integration. The collaboration also allows creators to easily take advantage of TikTok’s multi-streaming and dual-output features, as creators can live stream on multiple platforms and choose between horizontal or vertical streaming. Ashray Urs, head of product at Streamlabs, told Mashable that he sees the integration resonating with creators as they continue to develop more platforms.

TikTok launched TikTok Live in 2019, and it remains a way for creators to earn money directly on the platform, but it’s a complicated process. Viewers can purchase coins through the app and use them to purchase “gifts” for creators to send during the live stream. Coins cost 74 cents for 70 coins, and gifts range from 1 coin for a flower sticker to 29,999 coins for a lion sticker. Creators are turning these gifts back into coins with TikTok It said Take 50 percent of the revenue. Creators can then turn these gifts into “diamonds” and once 100 diamonds are collected they can be exchanged for actual money.

The ability to multi-stream seamlessly will likely make a big difference among creators who are mining diamonds on TikTok.
