“Teresa and I had a number of heart-to-heart conversations,” Jerry told ABC. Gujo Chang on Good morning America April 12 “And we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, etc., and we’ve kind of come to a mutual conclusion that maybe it’s time for us to break up our marriage.”
Although Jerry, who lives in Indiana, and Teresa, who lives in New Jersey, were committed to making their relationship work, it was their living situation that ultimately led to their split.
“The thing that struck me the most in our conversations was how dedicated we both are to our families,” explained Jerry, ABC’s first-ever Golden Bachelor. “So we look at these situations and I think we feel it is better for the happiness of both of us to live separately.”
