The Chipolo One can’t really live up to crowd-sourced searches like AirTags or Tile Trackers, so it’s probably not the best option for monitoring the location of your luggage while traveling. However, it does a more than capable job of helping you find items around the house. It has the loudest resonance of all the trackers we tested, for one thing, and there was no delay between pressing a button in an app and hearing the Chipolo One sound.

The disc can be easy to spot, as it is a colored plastic disc. It’s fairly sturdy, too, since it has IPX5 splash-resistance and a two-year battery life (battery is replaceable). Another plus in the One’s favor is that it’s compatible with both iOS and Android, and we found it easy to pair with iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phones.

The aspect that particularly impressed us was the breakup alerts. Once you’re about 350 feet away from the tracker, you’ll receive an alert on your phone asking if you left something somewhere. Through your mapping app, Chipolo can guide you back to the location where your phone was and was last connected. Of course, you can call the tracker as soon as you get close to it to help you find it.
