If you’re a crunchy mom, you probably already know that apple cider vinegar is good for you. Drinking it in water every day (or multiple times a day) can get old after a while. These apple cider vinegar gummies are a delicious way to get your daily dose and reap the health benefits of apple cider vinegar!

ACV gummies taste great

Apple cider vinegar may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to delicious gummies. Although I’ve made delicious tangerine gummies and raspberry probiotic gummies before, I’ve also been known to make more exotic gummies like activated charcoal gummies. Not only does vinegar have some impressive health benefits, it adds a nice sweet and sour touch to this version. I also add some raw honey and juice to better balance the flavors.

Apple cider vinegar candy has become more popular in recent years and you can find it even in supermarkets. They make promises to be gluten-free, non-GMO, and with added vitamins like folic acid. However, many of them are also high in total sugars thanks to ingredients like tapioca syrup and cane sugar. Gums containing processed sugar are a great way to treat cavities, especially when they are part of your daily routine!

Homemade apple cider vinegar gummies are a great way to get the benefits of apple cider vinegar without the unwanted ingredients.

Benefits of apple cider vinegar

It’s become really popular in recent years, but what’s so great about apple cider vinegar? Apple cider vinegar (as it is more commonly known) is basically acetic acid. While I use distilled white vinegar for cleaning, I prefer to use apple cider vinegar in food and supplements. You can read about the health benefits of apple cider vinegar here, but here’s a recap:

  • Heart health – Animal studies have shown that apple cider vinegar enhances calcium absorption. This helps the calcium go where it’s supposed to, and not collect in the arteries. It also helped lower systolic blood pressure.
  • cancer Although drinking apple cider vinegar daily will not cure cancer, it does provide some benefits. Many studies have looked at the role of apple cider vinegar in preventing and treating leukemia and colon cancer. Vinegar helps tumors grow and stimulates the activity of natural killer cells. It is important to note that these studies were in vitro and on animals, so more research needs to be done. Apple cider vinegar is also high in antioxidants to help fight free radical damage.
  • Blood sugar levels In studies, combining vinegar with a carbohydrate-rich meal helped reduce blood sugar. Apple cider vinegar also helped people feel full after eating a meal. This is one area where we have several human studies linking apple cider vinegar to improved health benefits.
  • Weight loss The researchers looked at body weight, body mass index, fat around the organs, waist size, and blood triglyceride levels in two groups. The groups given apple cider vinegar had significantly better lab numbers than the placebo group. Several studies show that apple cider vinegar can help with weight management and reduce food cravings.
  • Ages – Also known as advanced glycation end products, these harmful compounds cause disease and inflammation. They form when protein and fat combine with sugar in the bloodstream. Fruit vinegar is rich in polyphenols and a good source of AGE inhibitors. People with high blood sugar produce more AGEs and apple cider vinegar also helps lower blood sugar.

Other health benefits of ACV

Here are some other ways apple cider vinegar has been proven to help improve health.

  • Reduced inflammation in animal studies
  • Helps reduce kidney stones
  • Promotes energy levels from overall improved health
  • It contains good bacteria for gut health and to help improve immune function

Drinking vinegar in water daily can erode tooth enamel. That’s why it’s important to take it with foods that help build enamel, such as gelatin. Gelatin is also beneficial for gut health and improving the immune system. I also focus on healthy fats, bone broth, and grass-fed animal products for the nutrients that help build enamel.

How to make apple cider vinegar gummies

Gelatin is what makes this gelatinous substance stable. Make sure to use gelatin, not collagen peptides or you will end up with liquid. Some vegan-friendly recipes call for pectin or agar agar, but those are things I haven’t tried.

I also added some juice to it to help dilute the flavor of the apple cider vinegar. To enhance the natural apple flavors, use apple juice or apple cider. The batch I made for the photos used pomegranate juice which was delicious too!

If you are using a less sweet juice, increase the honey slightly. I found that 1/4 cup was ideal, but you can use 1/4 cup and reduce the juice by a tablespoon if you prefer it sweeter.

These sweet and refreshing gummies have all the health benefits of apple cider vinegar in a convenient little package. Great for kids too!

  • Combine the juice, vinegar, and honey together in a bowl and whisk to combine.

  • Sprinkle the gelatin over the liquid and let it bloom for 2-3 minutes.

  • Once the liquid has absorbed the gelatin, turn the stove to medium-low heat. Gently stir or whisk the sticky mixture until it melts and everything is combined, about 2 minutes. Do not over mix or the mixture will become too foamy.

  • Immediately pour the ACV gum mixture into your desired molds and let them cool in the refrigerator until firm.
